The Leadership Line - Are People Buying Into You?

Start with a vision, yes, but you will not be followed unless you are a leader.

To Ponder: What does it take to be a leader; to have people WANT to follow you, rather than feel like they have to?

Take Action: Consider one or two things you can do to be genuine, to be authentic, to be trustworthy, to be inspirational, to be credible, or any other quality that would make people WANT to follow you. Write it down, and be aware of it. Do your best to live it. Forgive yourself when you don't, and get right back to it!

Take Action: Just relax. Breathe. Smile. Consider what might be holding you back. Accept it. Believe in yourself, and trust you are on your way.

Until we get clear on who we really are, it will be difficult to live our lives authentically.

To Ponder: It's kind of like the difference between knowing where the landmines are so we can avoid them, and not knowing where they are and living in fear of stepping on one. When we don't know ourself and what's important to us - our values, our priorities - the actions we take may not be aligned, and we may be creating our own landmines.

Take Action: Take some time to reflect on what's most important to you in life (personally and professionally). Prioritize these. Stay mindful of them, and the actions you take to support them.

DiSC Reminder - Can you hear what isn't said?

93% of a message you receive is everything other than the words - your non verbals, tone of voice, intonation, etc.

To Ponder: What are your actions communicating? What messages are you sending? Are they the ones you intend to send? Are you considering a person's DiSC style while interacting with him/her?

Take Action: Be aware of your facial expressions, your posture, your intentions. They will communicate more than the words you choose. And be careful of the emails and texts you send as they lack the 93%!

Four Agreements Reminder Series - The Voices in Your Head

Being impeccable with your word is to not go against yourself with your word.

To Ponder: Why is this most important, and so difficult? It's most important because everything stems from our self esteem (self-love): how we treat other people, what we say and do, how we feel, the life we create for ourselves. It's most difficult because we have learned to believe in things that go against us, and we're not even aware of it.

Take Action: Be mindful of your thoughts - yes, listen to those voices in your head! Listen objectively. Question what you are telling yourself. Laugh at, and then get rid of, the harsh, hurtful and quite frankly, stupid things! Choose to tell yourself useful, helpful, kind and compassionate things, Focus on building your self esteem and your life will magically improve!
